Based in New York and Havana Amilcar Navarro is a commercial and documentary filmmaker. After working in fashion photography in NYC for seven years he began his film career with director Stephanie Black as an assistant editor on her film Africa Unite and later with Tim Heatherington and Sebastian Junger on their Academy Award Nominated Restrepo. His first documentary feature La ENA won best documentary feature at the Nova Frontier Film Festival and was later in competition at Festival International du Film PanAfricain de Cannes 2020.
